2YO Birthday Fun

Hudson is two years old! Tractors and Grandma are on the top of his list of favorites so we decided to go with a low key birthday celebration and headed off to Beloit where there are plenty of tractors and a Grandma and Grandpa. When you are two, life mostly revolves around you anyway, but I had fun making sure he had a special time with his favorite things for a couple days. He woke up on his birthday and I sang happy birthday to him in his crib while he smiled and bounced up and down (dancing). We loaded up and headed to Beloit getting him some of his favorite (and Mavie's) french fries and letting him watch a "show" on the way. He loves his shows...taking strongly after his daddy. Another one of his favorites is to push anything while walking...a cart, a stroller, a truck...so we got him a little push mower that we can push around the house or around the block. He pushed that thing all around Grandma and Grandpa's yard, through the puddles then through the mud...it had to have a bath within 30 minutes of taking it out for a spin. Dinner consisted of "cake", which are pancakes, another fave.



I attempted my first kiddo cake with the help of a tractor cake form and colored frosting. Hudson was able to identify it as a tractor so I'm calling it a success. Cake decorating it hard! Hats off to my mom for doing it for so many years for both my sister and I. I'm sure she was excited when ice cream cakes became all the rage. :)



After an extra long splashy bath and jammies he opened a big book of tractors from Grandma and Grandpa.



Day two of Tractor Palooza, for which Grandpa took a day off of work, began at the local tractor dealer. We drove through the lot exclaiming about all the tractors and then we even ventured inside where the excitement multiplied as He could run from one to the next and check out all their tires. Tractor tires are the coolest. He then got to stop off at the grocery store to push the mini-cart through the store...remember the love of pushing things...so excited to push a cart. After all that over stimulation it was time for a nap. After a quick trip to Great Grandmas and some more tractor play in the garage, Hudson got to go to the Pizza Hut for "PUZZA"!! It was a great couple of birthday days and I think he had a lot of fun.





The last of the birthday adventures took us to the Fritz train restaurant in Shawnee. Hudson loves trains too! This place is super cool, because there are several trains going around the restaurant and a train brings you your food when it is ready. Pretty fun and his cousin and bff Charlie got to come with him.



So much fun...so tired...
