Since moving back to KS, Em and I made our first trip back to Beloit to visit with family. It was an action packed couple of days! It had obviously been entirely too long since we had been there, since when we pulled into dad's work to say "hey", he didn't even recognize us. :) In all fairness, we were in a car and wearing sunglasses. That or we looked like a couple of crazy women trying to pick up lumber in a 2 door car. We tried the same "trick" on mom by showing up at her work, but there was no fooling her.
We were able to have lunch with my grandma, do some quilt research for the quilt mom is making for our little guy, hit a garage sale, visit my cousin and her new baby boy, eat at a local joint, have a cooking lesson on how to make tomato jelly (so good), help make a new step for our garage and run a saw for the first time, and still had time to take a little trip down memory lane listening to records from our childhood. It was a great time had by all. Here's a few pics from the trip back.

Ahhh Beloit. I remember going to your house one time. :)
There is a really cool guy in Challenge from Beloit. He worked with Nate and Dave on the roof this summer too. James Wright, ever hear of him??
How great that you can take a weekend trip home.
